How to Make Lahori Chargha
Lahori chargha is a delicious and popular Pakistani dish that consists of crispy fried chicken marinated in a blend of spices. Here's an easy recipe to make Lahori chargha at home:
Ingredients:
- 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
- 2 tablespoons of ginger paste
- 2 tablespoons of garlic paste
- 2 tablespoons of red chili powder
- 1 tablespoon turmeric powder
- 1 tablespoon cumin powder
- 1 tablespoon coriander powder
- 1 tablespoon garam masala powder
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
- Oil for frying
Instructions:
-
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ginger paste, garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, salt, yogurt, and lemon juice. Mix well to make a smooth paste.
-
Add the chicken pieces to the bowl and rub the marinade all over the chicken, making sure that every piece is well coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it marinate for at least 4 hours or overnight in the fridge.
-
When you're ready to cook, heat oil in a deep fryer or a heavy-bottomed pan over medium-high heat.
-
Once the oil is hot, carefully add the chicken pieces one by one, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry the chicken for about 15 to 20 minutes, or until it is golden brown and crispy.
-
Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the pan and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.
-
Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce, naan bread, and a salad. Enjoy your homemade Lahori chargha!
