Pani puri is a popular Indian street food that consists of small, crispy puris filled with a mixture of spicy potatoes, chickpeas, chutneys, and flavored water. Here's an easy recipe for making Pani puri at home:

Ingredients:

  • 50-60 puri
  • 2 cups boiled and mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup boiled chickpeas
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp chaat masala
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Tamarind chutney and green chutney, to taste
  • 1 cup chilled water
  • 1/2 cup mint leaves
  • 1/2 cup coriander leaves
  • 2 green chilies
  • 1 teaspoon roasted cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon black salt

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the mashed potatoes, boiled chickpeas, chopped onion, chopped tomatoes, chopped coriander leaves, chaat masala, red chili powder, and salt to taste.

  2. Add a spoonful of tamarind chutney and green chutney to the mixture and mix well.

  3. In a blender, blend together the mint leaves, coriander leaves, green chilies, roasted cumin powder, black salt, and chilled water to make the Pani (flavored water).

  4. To serve, make a small hole in the center of each puri and fill it with the potato-chickpea mixture.

  5. Dip the filled puri into the Pani and eat immediately.
